Let the Road Trip Begin

Of course our adventures started long before but we officially got on the road for the first road trip segment of our adventure but we will have to circle back to a few of those preparation highlights in later posts.

The #1 question we have gotten when we tell people about our plan has been.  “Will you get an RV?” While we did look into this option we ultimately decided NO.  The maintenance, the cost, and the lack of place for Joshua to work well from were all big negatives for us…plus…we like being more mobile and having the freedom to change and go with the flow that a smaller vehicle will allow for. So we will travel by minivan and stay with friends, family, at hotels, or in short term rentals along the way. (Anyone want a visit from the Dull family in 2022???)

The second questions we get is…”Where are you going?” The simple answer is…wherever we want to. The longer answer is…we have are looking to explore the country and find where we would like to set up our homestead. We have some places we’d like to check out around the country and hope to visit those for a few weeks at a time and explore those areas. We also have a goal to show the girls the country and of course we’d love to see friends and family along the way.

We officially hit the road on Nov 30. Minivan fully loaded and lots of smiles. You can imagine that packing up took us just a LITTLE BIT longer than anticipated but we still managed to get on the road before dinner time.

This first trip is 8 weeks and will include many more stops than we plan to in the future but we are excited to see family and friends we haven’t had the opportunity to see for awhile. It will also include lots of stops at National Parks, fun attractions, and holiday fun along the way! Stay tuned for more from our adventures!
