Arches National Park

I went to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. Arches is special because of all the Arches and different shapes that make it special. I love Arches National Park because I loved being able to stand in the arches. I went to Arches with my mom ad sister and they loved it to. I learned that Arches has the biggest arch in the USA. It is called Landscape Arch and it is over 300 feet long.

We went on the Windows Loop hike and got to see 3 of the biggest arches. The North Window, the South Window, and Turret Arch. That is when I got to stand in the arches.
The arches are formed when water goes into the stone and slowly withers away and makes holes in the rock. The holes get bigger over time making windows and arches. In order for it to be considered an arch it has be be at least 6 feet long.
I think someone should go to Arches National Park so they can see all the different arches and windows. One of my favorites was Double Arch. You should also go see the longest arch. I loved the park because of all of its beauty. I hope you will go visit this park sometime.

Our visit to Arches was a little bit impromptu. I had actually planned to go to Canyonlands this day but after several days back to back we decided we needed to have a slower morning. Since I really wanted to do sunrise at Canyonlands we decided we would wait and come back on another trip. Arches was much more doable in a shorter day since it is a smaller park than Canyonlands.
That said, we have no regrets about our choice! Arches was absolutely stunning. We enjoyed our hikes around Balanced Rock, the Windows Loop, to Double Arch. We drove through Devils Playground and had intended to hike to Landscape Arch by Rylee wasn’t feeling the greatest so we ended up skipping the last one. The drive through the park was SPECTACULAR! And despite it being a colder day it ended up being perfect for hiking and exploring. And became Makinsley’s favorite park so far!
